Where are Meghan Markle And Husband after Super Bowl no-show? Couple’s big trip explained

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry received a personal invite to attend the Super Bowl last night, but the couple were nowhere to be seen as they prepare for an important trip

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to skip last night’s Super Bowl, with the couple just days away from their trip to Canada.

Sources told The Mirror that American football bosses had invited the Duke of Sussex to watch the San Francisco 49ers take on the Kansas City Chiefs after his appearance at the NFL Honours ceremony on Thursday. An NFL insider said: “It is well known the Prince loves American football, and bosses have extended an invitation to him following his appearance at the awards. ”

However, Meghan and Harry were no shows at the big game. Instead, the couple seem to be preparing for a big business trip ahead of next year’s Invictus Games.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to head to Canada this week for their Invictus Games opening event. They’re set to spend three days in the country to celebrate one year to go until the 2025 Invictus Games.

Harry and Meghan are set to make an appearance from February 14 through February 16 at the launch event. The next Invictus Games will take place in February 2025 and will be held in Vancouver and Whistler, with winter sports featured for the first time.

Harry set up the Invictus Games in 2014 to help injured and sick military veterans. He wanted to inspire “recovery through sports, esports and adventurous challenge,” according to its website.

The couple’s Canada trip comes ahead of Harry’s return to the UK, which will take place just weeks after he rushed back to visit his father King Charles. The Duke of Sussex is tipped to travel back in May for the 10th birthday of the Invictus Games

Celebrations are due to take place at St Paul’s Cathedral. The news comes soon after the UK government announced a multi-million-pound bid to see the games hosted in Birmingham in 2027.

A source close to the project said a British-based Invictus Games would have the approval of both Harry and the rest of the Royal Family. “Harry has indicated that he is comfortable coming back for a British-based Invictus Games and we understand that the Games have always had the support of the rest of the Royal Family,” they told The Express.
