The Duchess of Sussex ‘never felt at home’ in England and has no intentions of ever returning, according to Omid Scobie.
Meghan Markle has allegedly vowed to never return to the UK again as she stayed at home in the States while Harry rushed back to the UK to see the King after his shock cancer diagnosis.
The Duke of Sussex made a fleeting visit back to his home country this week to meet his father but the duchess chose to remain in Montecito, California with their two kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Prince Harry was spotted at a private terminal at Los Angeles International Airport as he got out of his black Range Rover on Tuesday, the Express reports.
Meanwhile, Meghan stayed at home with the kids but there may be another reason why she didn’t join her husband according to a royal author who reported that the duchess has no plans of ever returning to England.
Royal author Omid Scobie, who penned Endgame last year, stated in his book that Meghan “never felt at home” in the UK as he wrote that Meghan “never wants to set foot again in England.”
The former Suits actress also didn’t attend King Charles’ Coronation as Harry made another fleeting solo trip for the historical occasion last May. According to Mr Scobie, Meghan didn’t want to “dive back into the soap opera of the court”.
The duchess has not been back in the UK since September 2022 for the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Harry left the US on Monday to be with his father after Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles had cancer and would be immediately undergoing treatment.
A source close to Prince Harry told The Mirror that King Charles had a chat with his son about his health.
They said: “The duke did speak with his father about his diagnosis. He will be traveling to UK to see His Majesty in the coming days.”
The monarch was in hospital for three days last month as he was treated for an enlarged prostate which is when they discovered he also has an unspecified type of cancer.
The Palace said: “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted.
“Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer. His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.
“Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual. The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure
He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible. His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.”
