50 Cent initially thought he was being pranked when Eminem flew him out to LA
50 Cent was pinching himself when he first met Eminem.
Recalling that fateful day in Los Angeles in the late 90s, the In Da Club rapper, 49, confessed in a recent episode of Million Dollaz Worth of Game that he initially thought he was being pranked.
“It was wild,” 50 Cent recalled, comparing the moment to being on the show Punk’d. “I thought they had cameras and they was gonna come out and say, ‘You’ve been punk’d.'”
50, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, explained that Eminem (Marshall Mathers) had flown him out to Los Angeles, and the experience left him so overwhelmed that he even arrived at the airport wearing a bulletproof vest.
“I get there and he’s like, ‘Yo,’ he hugs me,” he recalled, adding, “It felt so good that it couldn’t be right.”
The Grammy-nominated rapper has spoken highly about his mentor throughout his career. In a July interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he explained how Eminem got him in at the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
“They didn’t want me there. Eminem wouldn’t do it without me,” he explained.
The rap god has also expressed deep respect for 50 Cent, saying, “50 has proven again and again that there’s really nothing he can’t do, and nobody gets in the way of him getting it done.”
